CORONAVIRUS – ( COVID-19 )

In response to the current Coronavirus - (Covid -19) outbreak, the IGRC will be providing additional Hand Sanitizers, as soon as we can source them, to the Dining & Admission & Kennel areas.

We will be monitoring updates from QLD Health & Federal Government Health agencies for advice & undertake any recommendations from them as, well as RQ.

While all care will be taken by the club, we ask that if you are feeling unwell with any symptoms of fever, coughing or Flu - like symptoms, that you do not attend the meeting.

All trainers are asked to supply their own catching leads.  Please bring your own hand sanitiser until the Clubs' sanitiser stations are received & installed in the very near future.

Hygiene and social distancing
The intent of the patron-free racing is to assist the community obligation to uphold social distancing principles where at all possible.

Personal actions to assist include:
  Covering your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue;
  Disposing of tissues properly;
  Washing your hands often with soap and water or alcohol based sanitisers, including before and after eating, after going to the toilet, and after using shared equipment such as racing rugs;
  Cleaning and sanitising frequently used objects such as mobiles, keys and wallets;
  Avoiding large public gatherings if they’re not essential;
  Keeping a distance of 1.5 metres between you and other people whenever possible;
  Minimising physical contact, especially with people at higher risk such as older people and people with existing health conditions; and Supporting social distancing enhancements introduced by QRIC, RQ, and Club officials at race meetings.

SPECIAL NOTICE - 24.03.2020
As from Tuesday 24th March 2020 until further notice, the following will be put into practice at the Ipswich Greyhound Club.  Due to the Federal Government's restrictions, our Restaurant, Snack Bar & Bar will be closed.  You are encouraged to bring your own food & drinks to get you through the day.  Entry via the front door will not be available.  Exclusion of the public and those who are not participating on the day, has prompted this action.  Free Entry will be through the back gate.
 
 
 
 
 
Ipswich Update 28.03.2020

The Ipswich Club is making every effort to ensure that the new rules for racing with the Coronavirus at large are enforced.   We must all abide by these rules for the sake of the continuation of our Greyhound Racing and the Industries participant's livelihoods.

Ipswich Staff & Committee are policing all areas to ensure we do not inadvertently forget.  We sincerely thank those who are abiding by these requests.

Some items cannot be supplied by the club, so this is a reminder of all items you need to bring of our own:

 

Catching Leads - Sorbolene cream & powder - Raincoat - Hand Sanitiser - Sanitizer Wipes - Pens - Lunch - Soft Drinks & Water (No Alcohol)

 

A portable hand wash station has been purchased to enable participants to wash their hands regularly.

URGENT NOTICE !!!!!
It has been reported that some participants have been consuming alcohol in the Ipswich Showgrounds carpark.  The carpark is a PUBLIC SPACE and drinking alcohol here is highly illegal.  Police will be monitoring the situation and if any person is found drinking alcohol in the carpark, they will incur an on the spot fine.  The Club can also be penalised.  
So we ask everyone to do the right thing..
No drinking in public places.      You can't drink alcohol in a public place in Queensland, unless the area is a licensed premises or is declared as a 'wet area'. You can be issued with an on-the-spot fine for drinking alcohol in a public place.
PLEASE NOTE:
RQ advises that kennelling times will be extended to one hour in length at all race meetings to provide extra time for staff and participants to ensure compliance with social distancing protocols during the kennelling process.
One hour kennelling times will take effect at all race meetings starting on Thursday 2 April 2020.
Kennels will now open 1 hour and 45 minutes before the first race and close one hour later for all race meetings except Capalaba.  For Capalaba meetings, the kennels will open 2 hours before the first race and close one hour later.

CLUB NEWS, NOTICES & UPDATES
CHANGE OF TRIAL DAYS
Please note that due to night racing on Wednesdays 3/06/20 and 10/06/20 there will be no trials on Wednesday and Thursday these weeks.

Trials will be held on Monday (01/06/20 & 08/06/20) and Friday (05/06/20 & 12/05/20) from 7.00am.

Bookings for Monday open at 9.00am the previous Friday.
Bookings for Friday open at 9.00am the previous Monday.
MEMBERSHIP 2020/2021
Membership renewals for 2020/2021 are due and payable by 30th June 2020.  Renewal Form is available now - just follow this link.
Looking forward to having you onboard for another successful year.

The Ipswich Greyhound Club advise the Dining area will be open for trainers & handlers only as of Tuesday’s meeting ( 2-6-2020.)
to provide some much needed comfort.

We ask that all participants adhere to the current Social Distancing requirements to allow us to continue racing. Seating & tables
are NOT to be moved around in the Dining Area.

There will be Hand Sanitiser facilities available.

Please provide your own food & drinks (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL) as the bar & kitchen will not be open.

Contrary to information circulated in a media release that was released a couple of days ago, the IGRC wishes to advise that our Race Meetings (until further notice), will remain PATRON FREE. Only essential Staff, Participants are permitted on club grounds.

Just a reminder that there is no food, Bar or Tote facilities available at this time. Please, all Staff and Participants MUST continue to practice Social Distancing and Hygiene Protocol.

IGRC will continue keep you informed, when the information from QRIC & Racing Queensland when it's available.

IMPORTANT UPDATE !

09.06.2020

With the easing of Covid 19 restrictions, the IGRC advise that as of Saturday’s meeting 13th June, the Restaurant Area will be open to participants only.

Food will be able to be ordered from your table & will be served at your table when ready, by kitchen staff. You will be able to purchase Alcohol with your meals only & this will be served by staff also, to your table. The Bar will not be walk up service.  

Soft Drinks, Coffee, tea & water can also be ordered at your table
if required. If numbers require it, ( 20 + people ) -  we will set up additional tables in the Bar/Dining Area.  
  
The Restaurant will be open for 2 hours after Kennels close, until further notice.  Hand Sanitizer stations are provided .

EFTPOS machines are available & are the preferred payment for purchases. We encourage all staff & participants to maintain current social distancing at all times.  

All previous requirements are still in place, ie Temperature checks. Access will remain at the lower entrance to the kennel block. Note: Racing is still for Trainers & handlers – NO PUBLIC ADMITTANCE.

ACCESS TO IPSWICH GREYHOUND RACING CLUB

Because of public access restrictions to Greyhound Racings events, it has been decided by the Ipswich Club that the front gates of the Ipswich Showgrounds (Salisbury/Warwick Road) will be locked.

Access for the Greyhound participants, Staff and Essential workers will only be at the rear gate in Parker Avenue.  This entrance will be manned by a security guard who will be checking for authority to enter.

We have been forced into these steps to protect the continuation of our racing.  Thank you for your co-operation.”
