Ipswich Update 28.03.2020
The Ipswich Club is making every effort to ensure that the new rules for racing with the Coronavirus at large are enforced.
We must all abide by these rules for the sake of the continuation of our Greyhound Racing and the Industries participant's livelihoods.
Ipswich Staff & Committee are policing all areas to ensure we do not inadvertently forget. We sincerely thank those who are abiding by these requests.
Some items cannot be supplied by the club, so this is a reminder of all items you need to bring of our own:
Catching Leads - Sorbolene cream & powder - Raincoat - Hand Sanitiser - Sanitizer Wipes - Pens - Lunch - Soft Drinks & Water (No Alcohol)
A portable hand wash station has been hired to enable participants to wash their hands regularly.
URGENT NOTICE !!!!!
It has been reported that some participants have been consuming alcohol in the Ipswich Showgrounds carpark. The carpark is a PUBLIC SPACE and drinking alcohol here is highly illegal. Police will be monitoring the situation and if any person is found drinking alcohol in the carpark, they will incur an on the spot fine. The Club can also be penalised.
So we ask everyone to do the right thing..
No drinking in public places. You can't drink alcohol in a public place in Queensland, unless the area is a licensed premises or is declared as a 'wet area'. You can be issued with an on-the-spot fine for drinking alcohol in a public place.
RQ advises that kennelling times will be extended to one hour in length at all race meetings to provide extra time for staff and participants to ensure compliance with social distancing protocols during the kennelling process.
One hour kennelling times will take effect at all race meetings starting on Thursday 2 April 2020.
Kennels will now open 1 hour and 45 minutes before the first race and close one hour later for all race meetings except Capalaba. For Capalaba meetings, the kennels will open 2 hours before the first race and close one hour later.

ACCESS TO IPSWICH GREYHOUND RACING CLUB
Because of public access restrictions to Greyhound Racings events, it has been decided by the Ipswich Club that the front gates of the Ipswich Showgrounds (Salisbury/Warwick Road) will be locked.
Access for the Greyhound participants, Staff and Essential workers will only be at the rear gate in Parker Avenue. This entrance will be manned by a security guard who will be checking for authority to enter.
We have been forced into these steps to protect the continuation of our racing. Thank you for your co-operation.”
